Thanks to Wikipedia for straightening this out:

Alumnus is used to refer to a singular male graduate or former student.

Alumni is the plural of alumnus but can also be used to refer to a group of men and women graduates/former students.

Alumna is used to refer to a woman graduate or former student.
Alumnae is the plural of alumna.
We continue to try and reach out to long-lost, long-forgotten HP students and graduates! Here are three ways you can assist peers who developed Southeast's FIRST EVER degree-specific alumni chapter:

Might you do three quick things?

1)  Become a MEMBER in our new alumni chapter. Join for as many years at a time as you wish ($10/year). Our only expense presently is this website; and, we'd like to build a small cushion for future, nominal expenses. Let's show SEMO that HP alums are dedicated to their Alma mater;

2) Make a tax-deductible donation to the HP Fund (see box at bottom of membership application); and,

3) Contact any HP alumni that you went to school with, or who graduated with you (or, in the class before...or, after you) and share this information. Even if you choose not to support the chapter through membership, at least "like" us on Facebook, so we may have a way to keep you abreast!

Greetings fellow alums:

I hope you are doing well in what continues to be a challenging time for us all. Given the ongoing concerns about gathering in groups and the uncertainties associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to delay the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the HP program until fall 2021. We are still working out details and will let you know as soon as we have a date confirmed.

In the meantime, we need your help. As you may know, higher education is in crisis nationally. Not only are budgets of state institutions like Southeast Missouri State University being cut, but enrollments are also declining. This is where you can help.
Although the market for graduates with degrees in historic preservation continues to be strong, it is a college major that many people, especially high school students, do not realize exists. In the past the program purchased the names and addresses of high school students taking the ACT or SAT tests who indicated an interest in history and mailed them our brochure. With these standardized tests being suspended due to COVID-19 and an increasing number of institutions moving away from requiring them, this is no longer a viable means of getting the word out that our program exists.

You could help spread the word by offering to connect with your local high school or community college history teachers and school counselors/career/placement centers and drop off one of our program posters or some of our program brochures. Also, once we return to hosting in-person events again, consider volunteering to speak at any career fairs your local schools may offer.

We are proud of the work the HP program has done over the last 40 years to produce outstanding and successful graduates such as yourself. But if we want to guarantee Southeast continues to offer this major for the next 40 years, we need to increase recruitment into the program. Any help you can give in this direction would be appreciated.

If you think you can deliver a poster or drop off some brochures about the program with your local high school history teachers and school counselors, please let me know or contact Dr. Hoffman directly. You can reach me at melissa@hrg-nebraska.com and Dr. Hoffman at shoffman@semo.edu or (573) 651-2808.

Thank you for your continued support of the HP program. It is dedicated alumni like you who help make this program one of the best in the country.

Sincerely,
Melissa Dirr Gengler
